A story of one refugee
This is a short documentary about the story of a refugee living in Germany named Momod Tajik. He talks about his life in Germany and tells about his wishes for all those people living in Syria, Afghanistan and in other war-ravaged countries.

The LISTEN Radio Show
During our Innsbruck course we got the chance to make a radio show dedicated to our LISTEN project and moderated by all LISTEN partners on FREIRAD – Freies Radio Innsbruck: one hour of interviews, stories and music, moderated by Ovagem Agaidyan from Verein Multikulturell – Tyrolean Integration Centre (Austria) on Wednesday, 23/01/2018.

Course in Innsbruck
The LISTEN training course will be held from January 22nd till 26th at the premises of the Verein Multikulturell in Innsbruck, Austria.
The LISTEN training course will be held with 20 trainers, counsellours and social workers from UK, Greece, Sweden, Italy, Austria and Germany, who work with refugees and other people who were forced to leave their countries and to migrate to Europe, and who are interested in storytelling and broadcasting techniques.
The five-day course covers four topics that make up the LISTEN approach:
LISTEN in Athens
In early September 2018 the LISTEN partners met in Athens, centre of antique culture, representing stories from millenia and inhabitants from all cultures.
During the two days we intensively worked on shaping our products, to make sure they have an impact for the people who will use it.
The LISTEN approach introduces storytelling into intercultural education for refugees, and connects this endeavour with deliberate reflection on learning, but also seeks ways to make ones storytelling skills known through audio broadcasting media like the radio, fostering mutual understanding that evolves from sharing stories. LISTEN survey – the outcomes

Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed to our research and helped us to understand how trainers and facilitators feel about storytelling and the idea to connect it with radio broadcasting to give refugees a voice in their new communities.
Click on LISTEN_survey results to access the presentation of the main outcomes. The biggest surprise to us was to see how wide spread and established storytelling already is in education and that everyone agrees on its power to bring people together, to learn and to understand eachother. This gives us confidence and assures us that we are on the right track with LISTEN.

LISTEN Online Survey – please participate
LISTEN is starting out with a broad research among stakeholders about the state of the art in applying storytelling as educational approach with refugees and to use radio and broadcasting as media to share life stories with a wider public.
We invite you to take a few minutes time to participate in our online questionnaire. It addresses trainers, counsellors and social workers working with displaced persons, and aims to identify practices, preconditions and training needs in regard to storytelling with refugees.

First Newsletter
The LISTEN team has started its first activities – our first step was to find out, what we need to know, in order to develop materials that are tailored to our beneficiaries’ needs.
For this purpose we have created an online survey that addresses educators working with refugees and/or storytelling and asks about their experiences and practices.

Kick-Off Meeting
On February 27th and 28th 2017, representatives of all seven European partners met in Göttingen, Germany for the Kick-Off Meeting. It was an occasion to get to know each other, since we would be working toget
her in this constellation.
We started the meeting with sharing our expectations for the LISTEN project. We held discussions and decided that our final beneficiaries should not only be refugees, but also migrants who lived for months or years in their host countries, but don’t dare or have the opportunity to speak the language.
