LISTEN in Göttingen

During the last week of June, BUPNET and blinc helped a group of migrants to create their own radio show. The radio show was created in cooperation with VHS Göttingen and StadtRadio Göttingen.

The participants were German language learners who have left their countries of origin for different reasons. To combine these two aspects, they have chosen the topic “Flucht und Bildung” (“flight and education”) for their radio show. During the week they learnt some storytelling methods, and developed the interviews, reports and music they wanted to share during the show.

LISTEN in Athens

In early September 2018 the LISTEN partners met in Athens, centre of antique culture, representing stories from millenia and inhabitants from all cultures.

During the two days we intensively worked on shaping our products, to make sure they have an impact for the people who will use it.

The LISTEN approach introduces storytelling into intercultural education for refugees, and connects this endeavour with deliberate reflection on learning, but also seeks ways to make ones storytelling skills known through audio broadcasting media like the radio, fostering mutual understanding that evolves from sharing stories. LISTEN Online Survey – please participate

LISTEN is starting out with a broad research among stakeholders about the state of the art in applying storytelling as educational approach with refugees and to use radio and broadcasting as media to share life stories with a wider public.

We invite you to take a few minutes time to participate in our online questionnaire. It addresses trainers, counsellors and social workers working with displaced persons, and aims to identify practices, preconditions and training needs in regard to storytelling with refugees.

Click here to get to the survey.  On the starting page you may select whether you want to answer it in English, Italian, Swedish, Greek or German.

THANKS for your support!

The results of our survey will feed into the development of the LISTEN methodology and products and will be published in August 2017 on this website.

First Newsletter

The LISTEN team has started its first activities – our first step was to find out, what we need to know, in order to develop materials that are tailored to our beneficiaries’ needs.

For this purpose we have created an online survey that addresses educators working with refugees and/or storytelling and asks about their experiences and practices.

Learn more about our project and how you can support the LISTEN consortium from our first newsletter.
